Inspection
Wave Energies offers over 16 years of experience to ensure the safety, compliance, and performance of your critical facilities.
Our teams operate on-site and in-plant to inspect your infrastructure according to the most demanding industry standards.
Our Inspection Areas
Inspection of Storage Tanks
Wave Energies has recognized expertise in the inspection of storage tanks for petroleum products, which are subject to strict regulatory requirements.
Our services cover:
- inspection of shells, bottoms, and roofs,
- non-destructive testing of walls and welds,
- inspection of retention basins (basin bottom, berms, bases, foundations),
- inspection of surrounding piping and accessories,
- analysis of corrosion and aging phenomena,
- evaluation of equipment criticality,
- preparation of detailed reports and technical recommendations.
Periodic Inspections
We conduct:
- annual routine visits,
- quinquennial inspections,
- decennial inspections, including internal access to the tank for a thorough check.
Observed deviations are systematically subject to technical analysis and monitoring.
Work Monitoring and Support
Wave Energies also supports its clients with:
- site monitoring (repairs, new works, tank lifting),
- supervision of works according to industry codes and best practices,
- quality monitoring and validation after repairs,
- revision and optimization of inspection plans,
- assistance in defining works and drafting specifications.
Pipelines – Turnkey Inspection and Rehabilitation
Wave Energies supports operators throughout the entire pipeline integrity lifecycle, from inspection to rehabilitation, taking into account operational, safety, and service continuity constraints.
Internal inspections are performed using instrumented pigs, incorporating Caliper (geometry and deformations), MFL (corrosion detection and wall thickness loss), UT (thickness measurement), as well as specialized pigs adapted to pipeline configurations.
Wave Energies offers a turnkey approach, covering pipeline preparation, logistics, cleaning, inspection execution, and report delivery. The collected data is analyzed and translated into clear operational recommendations to guide maintenance, repair, or renewal decisions.
Additionally, Wave Energies provides services for project management for pipeline rehabilitation, including preparation of technical and administrative documentation, defect location, pre-work site assessment, supervision of excavation and rehabilitation operations (including stopple excavations), up to the site restoration and project close-out documentation.
Inspection of Piping, Equipment, and Structures
We also perform inspections of:
- industrial piping networks,
- pressure equipment,
- metal structures and supports,
- equipment specific to energy installations.
Our teams intervene during periodic checks, scheduled shutdowns, or maintenance and modification projects.
To ensure reliable inspections adapted to complex environments, Wave Energies relies on advanced equipment, including:
- conventional and advanced ultrasonic units (PAUT),
- MFL (Magnetic Flux Leakage) technology for tank bottom inspection,
- ACFM technology for surface crack detection and measurement,
- Elyos 3 drone, dedicated to confined environments, integrating:
- high-definition visual inspection,
- LiDAR for 3D modeling,
- ultrasonic inspection capabilities,
- topographical equipment for geometric surveys, deformation control, and facility modeling.
Wave Energies has internally developed INSI 2, an application dedicated to the digitalization of industrial inspections.
INSI 2 enables:
- the creation and customization of digital inspection forms,
- the integration of photos, comments, attachments, and signatures,
- offline operation on tablet or smartphone,
- instant generation of customized PDF reports,
- automatic report submission and data centralization.
Dedicated to Inspection
Wave Energies’ inspection activities rely on dedicated and highly qualified teams, with solid experience in industrial environments within the energy sector.
Our inspectors and controllers are notably:
- COFREND certified levels 1 to 3, across all implemented methods,
- trained in normative and regulatory requirements,
- experienced in construction, operation, maintenance, and major shutdown projects,
- Certified in tank inspection according to EEMUA 159 standards.
This human expertise is a key reliability factor, ensuring independent, objective, and fully actionable inspections.
